Mission
The mission of İstanbul Medeniyet University School of Foreign Languages (İMU SFL) is to provide students with basic language skills and study skills and strategies in English, Spanish, Arabic and German to continue their education in their departments and/or programs with its highly qualified and expert academic staff. An important part of the mission of İMÜ SFL is to overcome the foreign language insufficiencies of newly enrolled students, especially in departments where the medium of instruction is entirely a foreign language, to increase their ability to use the foreign language competently both in daily life and professionally, as well as to carry out studies to ensure the belonging of new students to İMÜ SFL and the university. İMÜ SFL also aims to support students' general, academic and professional foreign language development in departments and/or programs through compulsory or elective courses in various languages. It aims to educate individuals who use the world's communication languages, which are needed especially in academic studies, as effectively as they are active in social, academic and professional life and intellectual and multicultural individuals who are self-confident, ethical, aware of their responsibilities and solution-oriented.

As the School of Foreign Languages, our vision is to create a qualified educational environment based on professionalism, quality and transparency in line with the corporate identity of İstanbul Medeniyet University and its future goals and plans; to ensure that our students receive a high quality foreign language education with our well-equipped and active academic staff who have high institutional belonging and fully use innovative teaching methods; to rise to a privileged position among similar educational institutions; to contribute to our university's success at national and international level.
