Instructor Tuba İNAN, from the School of Foreign Languages, participated in the "From Teacher to Trainer Course" organized in collaboration with Cambridge University Press, Gordion Academy, and Unlimited Educational Services (UES). The five-day event was hosted by Istanbul Ticaret University at the Eminönü Campus from February 23–27, 2026.
This program aims to support experienced teachers in transitioning into the role of teacher trainer by merging their professional classroom expertise with essential training skills.
Program Highlights
- Development of Trainer Skills: Participants gained expertise in analyzing teacher learning processes and designing training sessions tailored for adult education.
- Observation and Feedback: The program included practical workshops on conducting classroom observations and utilizing effective feedback methods to support colleague development.
- Practice-Oriented Approach: Throughout the course, participants had the opportunity to test their strategies through micro-training sessions and peer reviews.
- Academic Resource Support: Guided by the latest literature authored by Matthew Ellman and Peter Lucantoni, the training provided a platform where theoretical knowledge was blended with practice.
Participation and Certification
This intensive modular program, which requires at least five years of classroom experience and a minimum B2 English proficiency level, was delivered face-to-face by Cambridge trainers. Upon successful completion of the training, our instructor was awarded a certificate of attendance, signifying the competency to take an active role in teacher development, classroom observation, and mentoring processes.
