A face-to-face workshop was held by the School of Foreign Languages at Istanbul Medeniyet University on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 14:00 at the Tuzla Orhanlı Campus. The event, titled “Empowerment in Action: A Reflection Workshop for EFL Educators”, was facilitated by our English instructor, Lecturer Emine Çiftçi, and took place with the active participation of our academic staff.
Designed as the first session of the Return & Reflect (R&R) Sessions series, which aims to raise awareness of teaching practices and support professional development, the workshop was planned to enable Lecturer Emine Çiftçi to share the knowledge and experience she gained following her participation in a training program at Boğaziçi University.
Within the scope of the workshop, discussions and experience sharing were carried out around the following topics:
- Teaching Reading Beyond Answers
- Writing as a Process
- AI-Supported Feedback
- Authentic Materials
- Teacher Talk & Spoken Error Correction
Conducted in an interactive format with the active contributions of participants, the workshop provided a platform for sharing good practices in teaching and exploring new perspectives on classroom applications.
Following the productive and inspiring session, Lecturer Emine Çiftçi was thanked for her valuable contributions and sharing, and the event concluded.
