Information about the Arabic DBS and Proficiency Exam to be held between 2-5 September 2024 is as follows:
Arabic Proficiency Exam (DBS):

DBS content: Arabic DBS consists of language use and reading sections.
Students who need to take Arabic DBS:
1. All students who have been placed at our University with 2024 OSYM scores and have newly registered to the Islamic Sciences Program, where the language of instruction is 30% Arabic, will be admitted.
2. Among the students who were accepted to our university according to the 2023 ÖSYM results but suspended their registration, students who will start the preparatory program for the first time in the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
3. Students who studied preparatory school in the 2023-2024 Academic Year, but were placed on hold due to not getting enough points or failing attendance, and declared with a petition that they want to study preparatory school in the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
Important Notes About DBS:
• Students in groups 1 and 2 above who do not take the DBS will not be able to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam to be held on 4-5 September 2024 and will be taken directly to the preparatory program.
• Students in groups 1 and 2 above must get at least 80 from DBS in order to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam. Students who have taken the DBS exam but have not exceeded the 80 point threshold are placed in the classes where they will study in the preparatory program according to the scores they receive from the DBS.
o Students who exceed the 80 point threshold from DBS will be entitled to participate in the Arabic Proficiency Exam to be held on 4-5 September 2024. The list of these students and their exam session information will be announced on the School of Foreign Languages website after the DBS exam on September 2, 2024.
• Students in group 3 above (pending students with 2023 admission) do not have to get an 80 from DBS in order to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam. All pending students who have previously declared that they want to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam with a petition will be able to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam.

About the Arabic Proficiency Exam Content:
- Arabic Proficiency Exam; It consists of sections that measure basic language skills including reading, grammar, listening, writing and speaking.
- The Arabic Proficiency Exam level is determined as B2 within the scope of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
-The proficiency score in the Arabic Preparatory Program is at least 70 out of 100.
-Students who pass the Arabic Proficiency Exam will be able to start their departments directly. Students who cannot pass the threshold will be placed in the classes where they will study in the preparatory program according to their DBS scores.
Students who must take the Arabic Proficiency Exam:
• Newly registered students with 2024 admissions who received an 80 or higher score in the Arabic DBS exam to be held on September 2, 2024,
• Students who entered in 2023 and will study preparatory school for the first time in the 2024-2025 academic year because their registration has been suspended, and who received an 80 and above in the Arabic DBS exam to be held on September 2, 2024,
• Those who studied preparatory school in the 2023-2024 Academic Year but were placed on hold due to not getting the required score or failing attendance, and who declared in advance that they wanted to take the Arabic Proficiency Exam with a petition.
Important Notes:
• Since the DBS and Arabic Proficiency Exam has already been held on 20-21 August 2024 for students who applied for Horizontal Transfer in the 2024-2025 Academic Year, these students cannot take the DBS on 2 September 2024 and the Arabic Proficiency Exam on 4-5 September 2024.
• Our students must be present in the exam halls on the specified dates and times. Examination halls, class lists and Speaking Exam times will be published on the School of Foreign Languages website, and our students should follow this page before the exam.
• Since identity checks will be carried out during the exams, our students must have their picture IDs with them. You must have an identity document (or valid passport / Northern Cyprus ID Card).
• Student ID will be checked during exams, at the entrance to the campus and in the exam halls, and students who are late will not be allowed into the exam. Students who have not yet received their student ID can take the exam with the student certificate they received from the student affairs office or e-government.
• Since late students will not be admitted to the exams, our students are kindly requested to show the necessary sensitivity and be present at the school building at least half an hour before the exam hours in order to avoid possible transportation problems and delays. In addition, it will be easier for you on the exam day if you come and see the building/campus where you will take the exam in advance.
• The School of Foreign Languages website should be followed frequently for all current announcements.
• The School of Foreign Languages reserves the right to make changes in the academic calendar and exam practices. Therefore, our institution is not responsible for the plans our students make for the exam week.
