Students who wish to take the English/Spanish/Arabic/German Proficiency Exam to be held between 19 January and 23 January 2026 must submit their wet-signed (original signature) petition no later than 9 January 2026, 15:30 either in person to the Secretariat of the School of Foreign Languages at Istanbul Medeniyet University Orhanlı Campus (Office A1-212), or by email to ydy@medeniyet.edu.tr.

• For students who submit their petition by email: once your petition has reached us, a reply stating “Your petition has been processed.” will be sent to the email address you used within three days. If you do not receive a response within two (2) business days, please resend the email containing your petition.

In accordance with the current Directive, students' rights to take the English/Spanish/Arabic Interim Proficiency Exam are as follows:

1. Newly enrolled students who are enrolled in the Preparatory class in the 2025-2026 academic year and have not exceeded the attendance limit (including those studying optional Preparatory School) can take this exam.

(b) Students who are studying in the preparatory class in their second year and have not exceeded the absenteeism limit can take the Interim Term Proficiency Exam.

(Students who are registered to the Prep class in the 2025-2026 academic year and have exceeded the attendance limit cannot take this exam.)

        (c) Pending students (those who have active student status by paying the tuition fee) who want to learn a foreign language on their own in their second year can take the Interim Proficiency Exam.

 *The difficulties of the proficiency exams are stated according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Reminders:

- Only students who submit the above petition template to the Secretariat of the School of Foreign Languages in person, or who send their wet-signed (original signature) petition by email to ydy@medeniyet.edu.tr, may take the English/Spanish/Arabic/German Proficiency Exam.

- Exam days, session hours, exam hall information and student lists will be published on the School of Foreign Languages ​​website before the exam.

- School of Foreign Languages, adverse weather conditions etc. has the right to make changes to the relevant dates within the framework of the academic calendar for any reason. For this reason, our institution is not responsible for our students' individual planning during the exam weeks.
