On March 17, 2022, an event titled "Embracing Life" was organized by our university's Project Community. The event took place at Embracing Life Restaurant and was attended by students from our university's Project Community, as well as volunteers from different institutions, teachers, students, and retired citizens. The main focus of this event was individuals who are homeless or have limited financial means.
At the beginning of the event, participants helped in the process of packaging the meals. Preparation was then made for distribution. During the distribution, individuals in need lined up and received their packages, which were served to them by volunteers. After the completion of the distribution, the remaining meals were delivered to individuals who requested a second serving.
The primary goal of this event went beyond merely filling people's stomachs; it also aimed to make them feel accepted by society. "Embracing Life Restaurant" not only distributes meals but also aims to integrate these individuals into the workforce and contribute to society. Therefore, this restaurant is believed to hold great value.
This project was carried out in line with the items that need to be supported under the Sustainable Development Goals. It focused on reducing poverty, implementing social protection systems, and ensuring universal access to reliable and nutritious food. The results and experiences obtained during the event will serve as a valuable resource for guiding and developing similar projects in the future.
